FrSky Receiver Guide - Hammerhead RC 2025
For newcomers to FrSky's radio architecture, it can be confusing to determine which receivers are compatible with the radio you own and how those receivers are named, to make it easier we have made this guide to understand what it all means and how to select the correct Rx for your application.
Definitions used with FrSky Radio's and Receivers:
TD = Tandem
TW = Twin
R = Standard Rx
SR = Stabilized Rx (Includes a built in Gyro)
GR = Glider Rx (Includes a built in Vario)
MX = Micro Rx (No PWM outputs)
Receiver naming convention:
FrSky follows the below naming convention for receivers made since 2022
RF Type / Rx Type and No of PWM Channels / Alterations
AA / AA## / AA
Examples:
TD R6 = RF Type: Tandem (TD) / Rx Type: Standard with 6 PWM outputs / No Addons
TD SR10 = RF Type: Tandem (TD) / Rx Type: Stabilized Rx with 10 PWM outputs / No Addons
TW GR8 = RF Type: Tandem (TD) / Rx Type: Glider Rx with 8 PWM outputs / No Addons
TD R6FB = RF Type: Tandem (TD) / Rx Type: Standard with 6 PWM outputs / FBus Servo Types only
Note: Radios we stock may be compatible with older architectures like ACCESS, ACCST & R9M. However, we do not stock those receivers.
Receiver RF Types We Stock:

TD (TANDEM): The latest architecture for FrSky radios, combining dual 2.4GHz and 900MHz into a single, continuous data stream.

TW (TWIN): Designed for dual 2.4GHz operation, offering clean, long-range capabilities and ultra-fast speeds.
